How Coach Logic has shaped Schools’ Sport

In 2011 George Watson’s College, an independent school in Edinburgh, signed up to use Coach Logic.
Fast forward to December 2015 and the School sealed the under-18 Scottish Rugby Schools Cup for the fourth time in succession. By beating Dollar Academy at BT Murrayfield they won an unprecedented fourth cup in a row.
Ally Donaldson, Director of Rugby at the school said “It will be a long time before a school matches our record of four consecutive titles, so that’s something the groups of players from the last four years should be immensely proud of.”
To the School’s credit the success hasn’t been limited to the 1st XV as the under-16s are current joint-holders.
The players’ accomplishments have rightly been reflected by selection for national honours. The Scotland under-20 squad regularly has a Watson’s influence of up to seven players. To top this off, many have also gone on to secure professional contracts with Edinburgh, Bath Rugby and Harlequins to name a few.
Coach Logic time is actually built into the weekly schedule for the 1st XV.
George Watson’s College have recently also become partners with Edinburgh Rugby, the professional side, who will play their home fixtures at the school in next season’s Pro12 league.
George Watson’s kindly granted permission for a Behind-the-Scenes video to be produced in the lead up to their most recent cup final.
Away from Watson’s, many other schools in Scotland and England use Coach Logic, as well as wider afield in Australia and Canada.
It goes without saying, learning shouldn’t be limited to Schools with uptake throughout Universities also popular. Current BUCS Rugby champions Exeter University and current BUCS Hockey champions University of Birmingham have both used the platform extensively.
In the club game Holcombe Hockey, West Ham United and the Scottish Rugby Union have all used various bespoke platforms designed for their individiaul requirements.
