Sharing is Caring! Welcome to our New Sports Coaching Blog
Through our website and this blog, we are looking to be involved in the improvement of sports coaching throughout the UK and beyond. We realise that the information we can share and that is reciprocated is vital for progress.
It is our hope that we can engage with like-minded coaches to share experiences with others from a variety of sports and levels.
There are so many great coaches out there who will have experienced so much in their time coaching, and by sharing this you will help to improve your own performance and that of those who are at the beginning of there coaching careers.
All good coaches know that whether you have been coaching for 30 minutes or 30 years, there is always room for improvement.
It is hoped that through a variety of methods, we will be able to learn from each other to improve both your performance as coaches and ultimately the performances of those that you coach.
Some of the topics we are planning to write about are;
- Reflective practice
- Implementing an athlete centered approach;
- An insight into the workings of a professional set up and the lessons we can learn
- Applying sports science principles
- Observation to improve performance.
We are hopeful that you will find these and the many other topics of interest, and that you have a few of your own that you could contribute, or would like us to investigate further.
We do not profess to know everything, but we do know that sharing good practice is essential to improvement, and we also feel that it is something that doesn’t happen enough.
Throughout our blogs, the type of information we share will vary from our own personal experiences, your experiences, interviews and peer-reviewed articles.
We will also be looking to invite guest blogs from time to time, so if you have something you want to say, then send it through to us and we will aim to integrate it into the blog when appropriate.
It is our aim to acknowledge and share good practice for the benefit of those that want to improve. We would therefore love to hear any feedback and ideas on the type of topics you are interested in and think will help to improve your sports coaching.
Our blogs will not always give direct information, but will hopefully serve to stimulate thought and discussion.
Like we said, Sharing is Caring!
We look forward to working with you.
